Enjoy the nature and culture in the Veluwe.

Enjoy the Veluwe as Art lover

For a delightful vacation home, De Roek is the perfect choice. Nature and culture are very easy to acces. While you might associate the Veluwe mainly with its breathtaking natural beauty, and that’s entirely accurate, there are also historical towns and renowned museums such as the Kröller Müller Museum and the CODA Museum.

To be honest, you can’t escape the stunning green surroundings. Our Finnish holiday bungalows are nestled in the forest, offering you privacy and a cozy retreat with your own terrace and garden. And just a short walk from your cottage, you can admire a masterpiece at the Kröller Müller Museum.

“De Roek is a lovely spot to spend a weekend together and recharge. We enjoyed a delightful visit to the Kröller Müller Museum and a beautiful walk over the sand dunes.” – Judith Karis on Zoover

You can unwind beautifully in one of our bungalows. If you wish, you can stroll onto the heath or into the forest, and the area is also perfect for a cycling trip.

Cultural day out

During your vacation, you finally have time for that inspiring museum visit. The Hoge Veluwe National Park is a fifteen-minute walk from De Roek, where you’ll find the Kröller Müller Museum featuring, among other things, the second-largest Van Gogh collection in the world and an exceptionally large sculpture garden.

The CODA Museum in Apeldoorn is also easily accessible from De Roek (22 km away). CODA Museum hosts a diverse range of exhibitions showcasing both national and international artists, as well as regional ones. The museum features constantly changing displays focusing on jewelry and art created on paper.

Eten-geven Nature and culture during your stay at De Roek

Are you an amateur photographer or a nature enthusiast?

At De Roek, we have created a beautiful photo hide in a quiet spot in the forest. You can rent the hide to take photos of squirrels and various bird species. Even without a camera, it’s wonderful to sit in the hide and observe everything, as it feels like watching a nature film.

About Your Vacation Cottage and De Roek

You have the option to stay in one of our Finnish forest bungalows or a woodland house. Your cottage is surrounded by greenery, so you can definitely expect visits from birds and squirrels. Our park is small-scale, which means you’ll have your own private spot with a terrace and garden, where you can enjoy peace and tranquility.

On the De Roek premises, you’ll also find a children’s farm/care farm, a small organic shop with dry goods, and a terrace that’s open on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday mornings. On Friday evenings, you can even make use of our meal service and savor a delicious vegetarian meal.
