• Some of our cottages are adapted.
• It’s a peaceful vacation spot in the woods, with the cottages spread far apart.
• There’s a charming farm that is easily accessible with a wheelchair.
• Our reception building is wheelchair-friendly and has an accessible toilet.
• From Monday to Saturday, you can visit our terrace from 10:00 to 12:00 for a cup of coffee or tea with delicious apple pie, baked and served by our De Roek Zorgbedrijf staff.
• Care is possible during your stay through Buurtzorg Wekerom.
• De Roek is a small family business with a group of motivated, enthusiastic permanent employees. We know our guests and are always ready to assist if necessary.
• At Medipoint, you can borrow, rent, or buy aids and equipment. You can also get personal advice about this in Medipoint’s stores. Check out their assortment in their webshop. For instance, you can order an adjustable bed. In collaboration with them, we ensure that the bed is ready in your vacation home upon arrival. • In terms of outings, there are plenty of wheelchair-accessible activities to enjoy in the area.

Additionally, De Roek is also a care company, which means we have experience in reducing stimuli in the environment and managing attention spans.

Wheelchair-friendly sourroundings in the area

Even if you have limited mobility or use a wheelchair, there are plenty of outings in the vicinity of our holiday park in the Veluwe!

• Wouter Hazeleger’s carriage center offers both special coverd wagon rides adapted for wheelchair users and carriages with extra comfortable seats for those with limited mobility. The carriage takes you through the most beautiful spots of the Veluwe. For an outing in a wheelchair, you can also visit the Beekse Hoeve, which has a wheelchair-accessible carriage.
• A trip to the zoo: Burgers’ Zoo is located near the holiday park. The zoo is accessible for wheelchair users. If you don’t have a wheelchair but have limited mobility, you can rent a wheelchair or even a mobility scooter in the park. Please note that you need to reserve these in advance. • A visit to the Kröller-Müller Museum: The museum is well accessible for wheelchair users. The sculpture garden contains some unpaved paths. Check the maps on the website for more information about the accessibility of the sculpture garden.
• Furthermore, there are various wheelchair-accessible routes in the area.

Care possibilities during your stay

Even during your vacation, it is possible to arrange for (home) care. The caregiver will visit you in the bungalow. And don’t forget to inform your current home care worker or district nurse about your vacation address and dates. You can rent or borrow any additional aids from Medipoint in Ede.
